About Unemployment Benefits
Did you know that you are not required to visit a Suncoast Workforce Career Center to file your claim and/or certify your weeks? You can do this from any computer with an internet connection, such as your home computer or public computers in libraries and community centers.
While Suncoast Workforce is not the Unemployment Office, we can connect you to the Unemployment Compensation (UC) office to file or inquire about your claim. Suncoast Workforce staff members are not employed by Florida’s Unemployment Compensation System and therefore cannot determine or offer opinions on eligibility for benefits or answer questions about your specific claim.
We are here to help! Our primary mission is “To recruit, train, and retain talent for the Suncoast.” So, our goal is to assist you with resources to find employment and advance in your career. Each of our three Career Centers are equipped with UC Hotline telephones in our lobbies, computers with internet connection in our resource rooms, Center Representatives to assist you with your job search and Employment Counselors to assist you with returning to work.
You may connect directly to the State’s Unemployment Website at Florida Jobs.
