American Recovery and Reinvestment Act 2009
Decisions by President Obama and Congress have placed emphasis on the investment of workforce development funds in new initiatives as soon as possible. The U.S. Department of Labor is currently writing further Guidance as far as implementation.
"The Suncoast Workforce Board is discussing with its board and staff how the additional funds will be used to expand its services to adults and youth," said Mary Helen Kress, President & CEO of the Suncoast Workforce Board. "We will be seeking partnerships where possible with local government, education, community-based organizations and private industry to help infuse the stimulus fund back into our community. We encourage employers to analyze their current and anticipated needs for employees for funded positions that can enhance their business and improve their competitive advantage in the marketplace."
